Arlo Firmware Update
The SmartHub and Arlo base stations have software that updates the base station automatically. The automated update takes place between 3:00 and 5:00 a.m., however, the power supply must be turned on and a strong internet connection must be available.
Because the automatic Arlo firmware upgrade failed or went wrong, you are unable to access the Arlo base station. Pay attention to the directions.
Manually update the Arlo Base Station Firmware or SmartHub by following the procedures below:
- From the electronic device, open the Arlo app or connect in to my.arlo.com.
- On the Arlo app, go to Settings and click or press on it.
- After that, navigate to My Device.
- Choose the Arlo base station or SmartHub you'd like to update.
- Select Device details > Firmware > Update from the drop-down menu.
- Allow the system to finish updating. While the upgrade is in progress, do not unplug the Arlo base station or SmartHub. Allow time for the update to finish.
- A green LED light shows that the firmware is being downloaded and installed. Wait for a while.
- An orange coloured LED will blink when the Arlo base station firmware is installed, and the base station will reboot.
- The Arlo firmware upgrade is complete when the Power and Internet LEDs turn green.
Warning: While an update is in progress, do not unplug the Arlo SmartHub or the base station. While updating the Arlo firmware, make cautious not to disconnect the base station's power source. This could cause damage and issues with the Arlo base station.
