Netgear adds HomeKit support to Arlo Baby Smart HD Monitor via firmware update | 2021
Netgear's Arlo Baby Smart HD Monitor Camera will get HomeKit functionality later this year via a software upgrade.
Support for linked cameras that operate with HomeKit has been limited, but according to this year's CES, that is beginning to change.
Apple's Home app will make it easier than ever for parents to keep an eye on their children. You may even ask Siri to show you the baby's room and use 2-way dialogue to soothe your infant.
The Arlo infant camera is a little more expensive, at $249, but it comes with a few extra functions not seen in most home cameras. Baby crying alarms, night lighting, a music player, and air quality monitoring are just a few examples.
The main selling points include:
- View Anywhere, Anytime: Stay connected to the things that matter most in your life even when you can't be there.
- Advanced Night Vision: Even in complete darkness, you can see your baby's every motion. Infrared LED lights that are nearly invisible ensure that your baby sleeps soundly.
- 1080p HD Video: Watch your kid in crystal clear 1080p HD video.
- 2-Way Talk: Use your smartphone to listen in and talk to your baby.
- Smart Music Player: Put your baby to sleep each night with calming lullabies or white noise. You may even use your smartphone to record your own voice and control the music that is playing.
- Air Sensors: Keep an eye on the air quality in your nursery, including temperature, humidity, and VOC levels. Whenever something falls outside of your intended range, you'll be notified.
- Do you really need to get up from the couch or bed and go to the crib when you get a motion or sound alert? You'll always know what's going on with Arlo's motion and sound smart notifications.
- Baby Crying Alert: Arlo Baby Cam can not only notify you when a sound is detected, but it can also tell you whether it is your baby crying.
- With a built-in rechargeable battery, you may move the camera freely around your home for hours at a time.
- Support will be built into future versions of the Arlo Baby Cam HD, but existing owners will be able to receive it through an over-the-arlo firmware update.
